Introducing our new intern - Kerrie

Iʼm going to be as cliché as can be and say that fashion has been central to my life for as long as I can remember. Cheesy but true. I grew up in the suburbs of Dublin, were my school days were consumed by my love for all things fashion. After finishing school at 17, I decided to head over to London; the only place were I knew I could pursue my dreams of becoming a fashion journalist. So here I am. Currently in my 2nd year of fashion journalism at UCA and interning at Fashion Enter, Iʼm loving every second of my new life in foggy London Town.

Week 1 @ Fashion Capital - Dervin

Welcoming the second week of my internship at Fashion Capital, I feel the need to blog about my first week here. It was certainly exciting as I got to know and understand what Fashion Capital is all about, as well as its relation to Fashion Enter and The Showroom, but I have a feeling I have more to learn about this exciting company - a platform for the young and talented upcoming designers.

I was also sent to a networking event by Arts Thread held at the V&A. Announcing their collaboration with New Designers, Arts Thread introduced its new website and its features, explaining its importance and advantages as a tool for creative graduates. If you are a creative graduate, then check the website as I am sure you will find it very useful, offering tips and ideas on how you might get a job or a work placement. Current MA students from Royal College of Art were showcasing their latest work as part of the event including Fah Chakshuvej, an MA Fashion student. I love the concept of her current project and she creates her own textiles. She is one to watch.

The rest of the week was spent searching the internet for upcoming fashion designers/brands to contact.

Keep checking this blog to find out what the interns at Fashion Capital are up to. Also, check Fashion Enter's 'The Showroom' blog.
